The inscription reads...
"To Peter Best Wishes Joe Davis 1958"
The cue is in excellent condition for its age, all totally original down to the Ferrule, leather tip, and wafer.
It is made up of a mature tight grained Ash with a lovely golden Patina, also silky smooth in the bridge-hand, the but section is made up of 4 Point Ebony Splices, with a front splice of Walnut with Maple veneer.
The cue is also a scarce and rare Collectors Item, and would look superb on a wall in a presentation box.

A very rare Billiards Mace C1780-1790 approximate date. The Mace has a Mahogany head/stock with an Ebony sight-line. The Shaft is made up of Pitch Pine and is good throughout and full length at 59 Inches.
The rare programme from 1979 is in mint condition, and also signed by... 6 times World Professional Snooker Champion Ray Reardon. A must for the serious collector.

For sale is a BRAND NEW Kent & Cleal Cue from Circa 1950's, the cue has never been played with and has been stored away for the last 10 years, the only work that has been done on the cue is a polish and nothing else, it is truly spectacular, it is a very reluctant sale, and i can guarantee you, you will not find a better example.
The cue is made up of Ash Shaft (tight grained) Beautiful silky smooth golden patina, leading into the Finest Jet Black African Ebony, with four splices of what can only be described as the finest of Tulip Wood spliced at 4 points in the Butt section.
